O’Rourke Scotland Ltd. New Justiciary Court project Glasgow. Worked in the capacity as Site Engineer involved in all aspects construction including piling works de-watering the construction of the basement holding cells. Developed and maintained site paperwork to support the company to attain BSi (British Standard Institute) BS 5750.
New Royal Infirmary Edinburgh
Raynesway Construction Services Ltd. NRIE Responsible for the tight dimensional control of popups within the ground floor slab including testing of drainage to the satisfaction of Building Control. Control sub-contractors being steel fixers, joiners and pipelayers. Discuss pre-pour requirements with RE and convey these to workforce. Responsible for highlighting variations to billed items and recording these by way of a daily record endorsed by the client. Discuss with Agent lack of information, variations to work and /or delays to the expected programme.
Millennium Link Union Canal
Miller Civil Engineering Ltd. Millennium Link Union Canal contracts 4A&4B. Contracted into the site team at the first day of the contract and extended to 2 years. Responsible for charting the services and carrying out surveys to confirm information provided by public utility drawings was correct. Organise site based meeting with P.U. consultants to discuss any issues. Due to in-depth knowledge of the services responsible for the ‘PERMITS TO DIG’ issued on site as well as conveying the information to the operatives and plant operators on site. Responsible for Sewer diversions. Controlling construction of manholes and pipe work. Altering the design to suit un-chartered connections and site conditions. Responsible for the signing-off of the drainage to the local authority. Responsible for maintaining records with respect to variations and local authority requirements as well as monitoring progress and reflecting this via as-built drawings. Bulk earthworks. This was carried out with respect to the road works and the initial excavation of the canal. This involved separating the elements of the earthworks into structural and non-structural elements for the purpose of selecting suitable material for embankments. Reinforced concrete works. Responsible for the construction of road bridges, pedestrian bridges and retaining walls. The concrete was embossed using shutter mounted formers therefore it was imperative that the shutters were fabricated correctly in order to obtain an acceptable finish. Service diversions. Liaising with PU companies to complete diversions in line with programme requirements.
